Hull 0-2 Sunderland: Tigers plunged further into relegation mire as Billy Jones and Jermain Defoe secure win for already-relegated Black Cats

Sunderland may already be relegated, but they were happy to do Swansea and Crystal Palace a favour in the tight Premier League relegation battle.

Hull could have taken a big step towards safety with a home victory over the Black Cats, but Billy Jones and Jermain Defoe scored as Marco Silva’s side stuttered.

Coming up for a corner, defender Jones rose above the static Tigers defence to head past Eldin Jakupovic, before Defoe made it two deep in injury time.
