Chelsea will announce their deal to sign Antonio Rudiger from Roma within the next 24 hours, according to multiple reports.
The Sunday Mirror and The Sun on Sunday both claim that the Germany international’s £34 million move to Stamford Bridge will be officially complete before Monday.
Antonio Conte is growing frustrated with his side’s lack of activity and after missing out on Romelu Lukaku, who has decided to join Manchester United, Chelsea’s board are keen to push a transfer through.
Rudiger is capable of playing as a right-back as well as in central defence and offers more versatility to Conte.
Following Rudiger’s arrival, the Italian is also considering switching Cesar Azpilicueta to right-wing-back because of the Spaniard’s defensive qualities and stamina.
So far this summer, the Premier League champions have completed the signing of Willy Caballero on a free transfer from Manchester City.
But Chelsea are hopeful over signing Tiemoue Bakayoko from Monaco.
